What is the best way to apply Folitin for maximum results?

+
Apply 2-3 drops of Folitin to a clean, dry area of your scalp, and gently massage for 30 seconds. Folitin is for the SCALP, so while it will, of course, be in the hair, the focus should be massaging the formulation into the scalp. Using techniques such as dermarolling or microneedling with Folitin are encouraged (but not necessary) as they drive the product deeper into the scalp. Less is always more with the application of Folitin. Folitin is a concentrated peptide formula and a tiny bit goes a long way when properly applied. Those with longer hair may need a bit more product to massage through their hair into the scalp. You must ensure you are applying directly to the scalp with the needle nose applicator of the bottle.

What is the ideal maintenance routine for using Folitin, once the desired results are achieved?

+
A general maintenance routine would be to apply Folitin 1-3 times per week to the area of concern.

Is this product safe for chemically sensitive individuals?

+
The Folitin formulation is generally safe for chemically sensitive individuals, but everyone is N-of-1 and biochemically unique. Folitin does not use harsh chemicals or hormone- altering compounds.

Is this product something that has to be used for the rest of your life, and how much does it break down to (in terms of monthly cost)?

+
Once you achieve an initial result you are happy with, we recommend a maintenance schedule. A maintenance schedule may range from a once-a-week application to using Folitin every other day. Living a low inflammation, optimized lifestyle, will greatly contribute to positive hair regrowth when using Folitin.

Are the hair regrowth results with Folitin permanent?

+
The effects of Folitin may not disappear or reverse upon halting treatment. Depending on the root cause of an individual's hair loss, their overall health and lifestyle, a maintenance schedule may be beneficial in maintaining long-term results. Many hair loss solutions only treat the underlying symptoms. Once treatment is ceased, the benefits disappear rapidly. Even when the use of Folitin is halted, the cumulative regenerative effects that occurred during the treatment cycle will remain. But depending on the cause of a person’s hair loss, a prudent strategy would be to use Folitin from a maintenance level when there is a noticeable sign of increased hair loss due to age, genetics or excess thinning/shedding.

Is Folitin safe if I have an autoimmune condition?

+
If you have or suspect an underlying autoimmune condition, we recommend you work with your healthcare provider to determine if Folitin is appropriate for you. Autoimmune conditions can be very complex and in some cases can be exacerbated by growth factors when applied topically. In these cases, we recommend spot testing a small area first as, while skin reactions are uncommon, they can occur with any product especially if someone is currently experiencing autoimmune related issues.

Is the Folitin product indicated for female hair loss (genetic pattern baldness) and/or the all-over "hair fall" type loss (telogen effluvium) that some women experience for hormonal reasons?

+
Yes, Folitin can help with all types of hair loss including what is observed in peri- and post-menopausal women. By working through the multiple effects of our proprietary peptide blend, including angiogenesis and antioxidant effects, the health of the hair follicle is improved. This supports the maintenance of existing hair and potentially supports the regeneration of new hair as well. It is imperative users realize their current state of topical and systemic inflammation will be the ultimate arbiter of their success with Folitin. The lower their rate of inflammation, the better results will be.

Will Folitin work better with DMSO? I have used DMSO for transdermal transport before and was wondering if it would also help in the transport of Folitin?

+
DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide) is an interesting delivery system. It can improve the transport and absorption of topical products. In theory, it would help with allowing Folitin's active ingredients to penetrate the dermis of the scalp. Due to some people being highly sensitive to DMSO, we recommend applying Folitin only as demonstrated on our website and in our videos.

How long after I apply Folitin should I wait before taking a shower and washing my hair?

+
We recommend applying Folitin post shower in the morning or the evening to allow for maximum absorption in the scalp. If you are going to shower post application, we recommend a minimum of 3 hours for Folitin to be absorbed into the scalp.

Are there any types of people Folitin will not work well for?

+
Hair loss is a multi-factor condition which also includes systemic health factors such as lifestyle, stress and systemic inflammation. The more optimized someone's lifestyle and cellular health, the more effective Folitin will be at producing noticeable results. Not every product works for every person. It is very likely there will be individuals who do not respond to Folitin.

After applying, is it recommended to avoid sun exposure for a period of time?

+
Because Folitin does not generate any sunlight sensitivity, sun exposure is not a concern.

Will your scalp and hair be greasy or messy after application?

+
If the application directions are followed closely, there should be no excessive residue or greasiness. A light layer of Folitin will be readily absorbed by the skin when gently massaged into the target area. Any excess residue or greasiness is a result of over-application.

How fast can I start seeing results with Folitin?

+
How fast someone may see results will vary depending on lifestyle factors (epigenetics) and genetics. These factors range from the overall state of an individual's cellular health to the root cause of the hair loss itself. Some people have reported noticeable results in as little as three weeks. Typically, results can be seen anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks after you begin using Folitin. It is important to understand the lower one's systemic inflammation (due to lifestyle), the better the results will be.

Typically, hair loss (in men) is the direct result of DHT (dihydrotestosterone) attaching itself to the DHT receptor at the follicle. This in turn stunts the life, growth, and cycle of the follicle until it is miniaturized and then falls dormant. How does Folitin interrupt this process, assuming it’s not a DHT blocker?

+
The DHT mechanism of hair loss is predicated on the action of the 5 alpha-reductase enzyme, which converts testosterone to DHT. 5 Alpha Reductase is a key intermediate in multiple pathways, not just DHT. The hormonal component of hair loss is simply one of multiple causal pathways involved in both male and female hair loss. Folitin interacts with multiple factors involved in hair loss to help stop thinning while helping to regrow hair at the follicular root. For a much deeper dive on this topic, please refer to the article found here.

Can Folitin be used for beards? Does it need to be massaged into the facial skin similar to the scalp? Is there an estimated timeline to see results?

+
Folitin can be used for beards in the same way it is used for hair on the scalp. The results achieved using Folitin will always be related to the cellular health of the end user. The less inflammation one has (systemic and topically) the faster results will occur as new blood flow (to the targeted cells) will be less restricted. Please be aware Folitin Beard (a separate beard conditioning and regrowth product) is coming soon.

Does Folitin Cause Any Side Effects?

+
Folitin does not cause any disruption to hormonal systems or impede biological system pathways. Because it stimulates the body to enhance natural biological processes, no side effects are produced. The cellular health of the end user will always be the chief determinant to the ultimate success and results achieved when using Folitin.

I have been using Minoxidil, and I am going to start treatment with Folitin. I am afraid of losing hair upon discontinuing the use of Minoxidil. Is there anything that you would recommend in this transition?

+
This is a great question. We recommend Folitin application in the AM while continuing your Minoxidil protocol in the evening. It is important that the Folitin does not compete against the Minoxidil for topical absorption into the scalp. After 1 to 2 weeks of Folitin use in the morning, you can withdraw from your Minoxidil protocol for good, as your scalp will now be in a much better state of health from using Folitin.
